Summer 2008 Required Reading

GRADES 6 - 9

Students will be required to read two books.  However, students may receive extra points for reading more than two books, and there will be prizes for students who read the most books!  Please take time to browse the book lists provided below; however, students are allowed to read ANY book of at least 90 pages, that is interesting and appropriate.  Books may be fiction, non-fiction, or biography.

Students need to keep a log of all books they read over the summer.  For each book read, they should write two sentences telling what they specifically liked about the book.  Then at the end of the summer, they should have parents sign the log and turn it in to their English teacher.  That’s it!  Read two books and keep a log to start the year off with an A+.  Then read more books for extra credit and prizes!

If you have any questions about reading selections or the summer reading program, please call or email me.  Have a wonderful summer!
